Final repeat tops Under-21 bill

Eight teams have 100% records to protect during the next batch of qualifiers, with a repeat of this year's final between Spain and Switzerland in store in Group 5.

Eight teams will be trying to maintain their perfect records when 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying resumes this week.

Among those with unblemished campaigns so far are Spain, whose next Group 5 test comes in the shape of bottom-placed Estonia on Thursday. Their nearest challengers Switzerland, two points adrift, host Georgia before travelling to Cordoba on Monday for a repeat of this year's final in Denmark. Beaten 2-0 by the Roja on that occasion, Pierluigi Tami's team will be spurred on by more than just the incentive of going top in the section.

In Group 1, Germany will attempt to make it seven wins from seven, with Greece, second but six points behind, and then Cyprus standing in their way. Something will have to give in Group 9, meanwhile, where Slovakia and France both have maximum plunder from their opening three fixtures. Eric Mombaerts' charges entertain Romania before their fellow frontrunners come to Angers on Monday.

Already four points clear at the Group 10 summit, the Netherlands will seek to stretch their lead further when they welcome second-placed Scotland to Nijmegen. Another top-of-the-table meeting takes place in Group 7, where Turkey hold sway by three points but have played two games more than Italy, who will bid to preserve their faultless record in Istanbul before hosting Hungary.

England, the early pacesetters in Group 8, come up against Iceland and Belgium, while in Group 6 Albania will aim to become the first side to take points off Russia. In Group 3, the Czech Republic visit Yerevan with the chance to go above surprise leaders Armenia, who can always regain pole position when they take on Wales next Tuesday.
