Zoran Tesko had a successful career as a futsal player and is proving just as proficient a coach.

As a teenager he was a footballer for NK SET Vevče Ljubljana before a switch to futsal. Tesko signed for KMN Svea Lesna Litija and helped them to five league titles and three Slovenian Cups. After spells at GIP Beton MTO Zagorje and Metropol Ljubljana, Tesko returned to Litija in 2004 as coach. In his first season in charge he won the league title and the following season led Litija to the last eight of the UEFA Futsal Cup, Slovenia's best showing.

Moving on to Bronx Koper, Tesko was appointed Slovenia Under-21 coach in 2007. Qualification for the first UEFA European Under-21 Futsal Tournament was the aim and although he had to wait six games for a win, when it came to qualification in April his side defeated Georgia 5-1, Bulgaria 12-0 and Belgium 4-2 to reach the finals. "As head coach of this squad I was able to select the team," Tesko said. "It seems I made the right decisions as the team performed at a high level."
