Jacobs pledges future to Anderlecht

RSC Anderlecht coach Ariël Jacobs has extended his contract by two years until summer 2012.

'Excellent coach'
The 56-year-old Jacobs stepped up from an assistant role to replace of Franky Vercauteren in November 2007 and has impressed the Anderlecht hierarchy with his "huge drive and commitment". General manager Herman Van Holbeeck added: "He's an excellent coach and a real team player. The players respect his craftsmanship and he successfully co-operates with all departments at the club."

Knockout chance
Jacobs, whose side are well placed to reach the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa League, said: "I'm very honoured that the club appreciates my work. I hope to continue meeting the high expectations."
