Hertha BSC Berlin's dire run of luck with injuries has continued, with defender Marc Stein ruled out of action for several weeks after the UEFA Europa League contenders' 1-0 Bundesluga loss at 1. FC Köln.

Grim position
The 24-year-old, who has played in three of his side's Group D games to date, as they sit second in the section, was replaced by Patrick Ebert 67 minutes into the loss in Cologne, with club medical staff diagnosing a major tear to muscle fibres in his left thigh which will require at least four weeks on the sidelines. There is an outside chance he will be available for the game against FK Ventspils on 3 December. With just one league win all season, Hertha are bottom of the Bundesliga, with Friedhelm Funkel having replaced Swiss coach Lucien Favre.
