Campbell strikes for Scotland
Wednesday 19 March 2008Match report
Scotland are one point away from the UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals in Turkey after defeating Wales to maintain their Elite round Group 2 lead.
Late winner
Wales hit the post early on when Dean Hodson's cross almost snuck in, but with ten minutes to go Scotland broke the deadlock when substitute Paul Robinson's cross was turned in by Archie Campbell. That kept Scotland on maximum points, but to qualify they still need to avoid defeat on Saturday against Slovenia, as they beat group hosts Northern Ireland 2-0 in the late game.
