Schelin exposes Norwegian naivety

Striker Lotta Schelin scored four times as Sweden gave their Nordic neighbours a friendly thrashing in La Quinta, Spain, on Saturday.

Norway coach Bjarne Berntsen was forced to field an experimental squad with a number of senior players having retired in recent months, and Sweden took ruthless advantage of their inexperience, with Schelin scoring four goals and earning the free-kick from which they scored their fifth. "She terrorised our defence," conceded Berntsen, who added: "We had six debutantes today, and we were very vulnerable in defence. It will take time for this team to perform at its highest level."
