Azerbaijan beat Liechtenstein 2-0 to record their first win in FIFA World Cup qualifying Group 4 and climb above their opponents and off bottom spot in the section.
Second-half goals
Azerbaijan came into the match with just a single point from the reverse fixture in Baku in September 2008, but quadrupled their tally in Vaduz. After a scoreless first half, Vagif Dzavadov put Berti Vogts' side ahead ten minutes after the restart when he punished hesitancy in the home defence, before Elvin Mammadov punished Yves Oehri's mistake to make sure of the points eight minutes from time. Azerbaijan have four points ahead of their final game against Russia, two more than Liechtenstein who host Wales on Wednesday still looking for their first win.
