Belgium secured their second win in FIFA World Cup qualifying Group A against Serbia to go top of the section and extend their unbeaten start to the campaign.

The hosts dominated early on but Christian Benteke's goal on 34 minutes changed the course of the game. Belgium grew into the contest and doubled their advantage after the break thanks to Kevin De Bruyne's strike. Their impressive performance was complete in added time when substitute Kevin Mirallas finished off a swift counterattack to crown a memorable night.

Serbia made a fast start and almost took the lead on two minutes only for Zoran Tošić to miss the target with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. The PFC CSKA Moskva midfielder spurned another good opportunity when one-on-one with Thibaut Courtois just past the half-hour and Belgium quickly made them pay.

Aston Villa FC's Benteke timed his run perfectly and lost his marker to head in De Bruyne's cross from close range. The visitors then controlled proceedings after the break and De Bruyne extended the lead with a well-placed finish on 68 minutes.

Mirallas came off the substitutes' bench to complete the scoring in added time and keep Belgium on course for Brazil 2014. They host Scotland on Tuesday, when Serbia travel to the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
