Polling has closed in the uefa.com users' Team of the Year 2006 with a record number of 3,887,556 votes registered by 323,963 users.
Result announcement
Thank you to all those who took part in Europe's biggest online football poll, the results of which will be announced on uefa.com on Friday 19 January. Sixty players and managers were nominated for 12 positions, including coach, with players selected for their overall performances either for a European club or national side, or in a UEFA club competition in 2006.
Popular poll
The uefa.com Team of the Year is not intended to rival more established awards, and does not bear the official UEFA imprimatur. Nevertheless, it has already proved hugely popular with fans.
