Win your team a minibus
Wednesday 10 December 2008Remember Zinédine Zidane's match-winning volley in the 2002 UEFA Champions League final? What about the skills that Cristiano Ronaldo produced on the way to Manchester United FC's success last season? There have been more magic moments produced this season too – but what about your own? You have one more week to show us what you've got in the Team Challenge.
Win a minibus
The Team Challenge, on the UEFA Training Ground, gives you and your team-mates the chance to parade your skills alongside superstars like Andrea Pirlo and Kaká. If you show enough style and panache, your team could be driving to games next season in a brand-new Ford minibus or be wearing in top of the range training kit courtesy of adidas.
Imaginative skills
The challenge is simple. All you need is a ball and someone to film your team showing off some magic moments. It is a team challenge because the filming has to feature a minimum of three players. The idea is to demonstrate as many tricks as you can in one minute, timed from when the first player kicks the ball. So long as everything is safe in terms of injury risks, there's carte blanche to perform as many tricks and skills as you want, using whatever equipment you like. So, if you want to shoot the ball through hoops, juggle the ball while doing a handstand or try the scorpion kick, that is fine. The key is to let your imagination run riot and see if your technique can match it!

Before you begin filming, take a look at the 'laws of the game' by clicking here and selecting the Ford Team Challenge. It will also tell you how to upload your video on to the website and better still, you can submit as many one-minute clips as you like.
'Magnificent project'
The five most popular videos will be monitored by a panel of experts featuring one of the 'Ford Champions' and representatives from UEFA's football development department. They will be looking for skill, teamwork and creative ideas. "I think this is a magnificent project," said UEFA technical director Andy Roxburgh. "It's a wonderful merger of what you might call old-fashioned practice of your technique with the sharp end of technology. It's a great chance to show off your skills – and anything that encourages people to practise their technique has to be positive. What's more, the winners are going to be very happy indeed."
Adidas prizes
The winning team will undoubtedly be happy to take delivery of a Ford minibus and a full set of adidas football gear. The silver and bronze medallists will each win 20 complete adidas kits and footballs. In fact, the list of adidas gear is stunning (jerseys, shorts, socks, shinguards, goalkeeper's kit, rain jackets, polo shirts, training bibs, sports bags and matchballs) and there are 'kit' prizes for the teams right down to tenth place. But, of course, THE prize is the Ford minibus. Time is running out with the deadline for entries on 15 December so what are you waiting for?
