Kairat Almaty have shown their ambition ahead of the UEFA Futsal Cup finals in Tbilisi with the signings of the experienced Brazilian duo Betão and Euler.

Betão, 34, has penned a two-year contract with the perennial champions of Kazakhstan, while Euler, 35, has agreed a one-season deal with the option for a further 12 months. Their arrival is a boost for Kairat, who have allowed Andre to depart on loan while Felipe has returned to Brazil to receive treatment on an injury. Kairat play hosts Iberia Star Tbilisi, holders FC Barcelona and former winners MFK Dinamo of Russia in the knockout finals from 26 to 28 April.

Arriving from Spanish side Interviú, the club he helped win the 2009 UEFA Futsal Cup and a FIFA Futsal World Cup winner the previous year for Brazil, Betão said: "Of course I'd like to lift the trophy again. If a player loses that motivation then it's time to quit."

Betão scored at the weekend in an 8-2 friendly defeat of Russian team Novaja Generacija which also involved Euler. He has arrived from Luparense C/5 of Italy having previously spent eight years in Spain with Playas de Castellón FS and Sala 10 Zaragoza.

Coach João Carlos Barbosa, who will also now lead Kazakhstan in UEFA Futsal EURO 2014 qualifying, said: "I want to thank the club management, who have done everything possible to bring these players to Kairat. I am very familiar with Euler and Betão from Brazil. Currently, we are on a dedicated training programme which should help us put up a decent performance against Barcelona, Iberia and Dinamo. We still have three months to prepare thoroughly for the UEFA Cup."
