UEFA Futsal Cup finalists FC Barcelona's bid for a fourth straight Spanish treble was ended by league leaders Interviú Madrid in the Copa de España semi-finals with an added blow of an injury to Ari, the capital side going on to beat Murcia FS 4-3 in a dramatic decider in Logrono.

Things began well on Thursday for Barcelona when four Wilde goals helped them beat Navarra FS 7-1 in the quarter-finals. But two night later the tables were turned as a Ricardinho-inspired Interviú won 6-1, Barcelona's biggest loss since June 2012.

To make matter worse, Brazil defender Ari suffered a ruptured achilles tendon and with the 32-year-old set to undergo surgery on the injury in the coming days, he is almost certain to miss the UEFA Futsal Cup finals in Baku next month. On Wendesday, Barcelona were drawn against Araz Naxçivan in the 24 April semi-finals.

Meanwhile Interviú went on to face Murcia FS in the final and ended their five-year wait to lift the trophy. Murcia twice led early on but twice the Green Machine equalised and Nano Modrego put them ahead at the break. Gréllo equalised in the last minute but then in the final second Bateria won it for Interviú, the timing of the clincher the same as when they beat Murcia in the 2007 UEFA Futsal Cup semi-finals.

"It was a very even game but we remained calm and true to our style," said Interviú coach Jesús Velasco. "We know that we could have lost the game so winning the Copa is something really beautiful."
