The UEFA Futsal Cup finals in Lisbon next month are a sell-out – guaranteeing a record crowd for the competition.

All 10,500 tickets have been sold by host side Sporting Clube de Portugal since they went on sale on 26 February, ensuring a full Meo Arena for the semi-finals on 24 April and the third-place play-off and final two days later. That will break the current record crowd for the competition, set at the same venue when SL Benfica beat Inter FS in the 2010 final in front of 9,400 fans.

UEFA futsal competition manager Laurent Morel said: "Nowadays the final four is proving a resounding success and the sell-out is the fruit of long and tireless cooperation with the clubs to strengthen the continental competition and bring the climax of the season to the next stage. To put 10,500 fans in an indoor arena is like having 50,000 spectators in a football stadium, which demonstrates the high profile of the UEFA Futsal Cup finals.

"It's a great event, played in a safe environment and a great spirit of competition and respect. Congratulations to Sporting CP for achieving such a milestone in less than three weeks. Before today, in UEFA futsal competitions, we never had to feel sorry for the fans who wouldn't have the opportunity to see the games in the arena."

For those unable to get tickets, the competition will be broadcast live on Eurosport.

Schedule at Lisbon's Meo Arena:
Semi-finals: 24 April (KO times CET, local time is 1 hour behind)

22.30CET: FC Barcelona (ESP, holders) v Sporting Clube de Portugal (POR, hosts)
