The Italian team made their mark in the opening game on Friday, seeing off Svea Lesna Litija 9-3. F.Y.R. Macedonian entrants KMF Skopje also began with a win, beating MFC Hayk Yerevan 6-3.
Heavy defeat
The following day, Prato submitted Yerevan to another heavy defeat, triumphing 9-1 against the Armenian side. Skopje failed to match Prato this time though, drawing 5-5 against Litija of Slovenia.
Close match
Skopje knew they could still top the group though because they faced Prato in their final game, and a win would take them through. Prato with six points before the game, knew a draw would be enough. As it was, they won a close match 5-3 to clinch top spot. The mini-tournament finished with Litija beating Yerevan 8-6.
