The 2007/08 UEFA Futsal Cup kicks off on Saturday as 22 teams take part in the Preliminary round over the following week.
New nations
The six group winners will progress to the Main round in September, and the first game to take place will match Moldova's FC Camelot Chisinau with FC Anzhi Tallinn, the Estonia's inaugural entrant in this competition. Latvian hosts FK Kauguri and Germany's FV Eppelborn make up Group C. Of the other new nations involved, Irish champions Shamrock Rovers FC are in Group D from 12 August along with FC Politekhnik Yerevan of Armenia, Scotland's Fair City Santos and Austrian home team Stella Rossa Vienna, while KMF Muicipium Casino Plevlja from Montenegro are in the final pool to finish, Group B, which also contains Ararat AGBU Nicosia FC, KS Ali Demi Tirana and French hosts Issy Futsal, running from 16-19 August.
Elite round
In the Main round, 18 automatic entrants await the six Preliminary round qualifiers in four groups, which will each send to teams to the Elite round draw on 18 September. Holders MFK Dinamo Moskva, their Russian rivals MFK Viz-Sinara Ekaterinburg, Spanish champions ElPozo Murcia FS and Kairat Almaty are seeded straight into that stage from 13 to 21 October with the group winners progressing to April's final four; the hosts are to be picked from among their number to follow in the footsteps of Murcia.
