Comfortable win
Returning to action yesterday after four months off since beating the Netherlands 6-0 to seal a place in the Porto finals, Serbia secured a 5-1 success in Belgrade and followed that today with a 4-2 victory in Vrsac. In the first game Igor Šošo made it 1-0 on seven minutes and early in the second half Bojan Pavićević and Vidan Bojović increased the lead. With four minutes left Pavićević added another and Borko Surudžić struck before Mariusz Kaźmierczak pulled one back with a double penalty.

Perić double
Today it was Predrag Rajić who scored first on eleven minutes and Tomasz Wolny soon put through an own goal. Michał Słonina pulled one back with eight minutes left but a swift Marko Perić double put the result beyond doubt before a Piotr Myszor consolation. Aca Kovačević's side open their finals Group B campaign against 2005 runners-up Russia in 17 November and also meet holders Spain and Ukraine in a tough pool.
