Belarus look good in Libya

Belarus got into shape for Thursday's UEFA European Futsal Championship finals draw with a two good results in friendlies in Libya, beating the African champions 2-1 before a 1-1 draw in the second Tripoli fixture.

Belarus got into shape for Thursday's UEFA European Futsal Championship finals draw with a two good results in friendlies in Libya.

Victory
In the first Tripoli fixture, Belarus secured a 2-1 win against the reigning African and Arab champions, who competed at last year's FIFA Futsal World Cup. Sergei Dyadichkin opened the scoring midway through the second half and after Libya had turned to a flying goalkeeper, Aleksandr Savintsev took advantage to make it 2-0. Libya added a late consolation in the dying seconds.

Equaliser
The following day it was 1-1 as although Libya led at the break, Sergei Padalinski levelled with five minutes left. Having qualified for their first major futsal finals, Belarus will be in the third of three seeding pots for the draw in Debrecen, and in their group with face one of hosts Hungary, holders Spain and former winners Russia and Italy, plus another side from the second tier; Ukraine, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Serbia. The finals will be played from 19-30 January.
