Quartet excluded
Missing from the 14-man finals squad are goalkeepers Jan Klíma and Petr Kreyzel, and outfield players Jaroslav Kamenický and Petr Vladyka, all of whom have been almost automatic choices in recent years. "Futsal is always quick and we must give a chance to youngsters," said Neumann, who has called up 19-year-old Jiří Novotný along with two surviving stalwarts, brothers Roman and Michal Mareš, who initially retired after the 2005 finals before reconsidering. David Filinger is also on the list, although he is suspended for all three Group A games against Romania, Italy and hosts Portugal. "He is in the form of his life," Neumann explained. “I want to use him as the joker in Portugal."
