Hyundai Motor Corporation, a UEFA EUROTOP partner and the official vehicle supplier of UEFA Women's EURO 2013, handed over a fleet of 101 cars for use in next month's tournament at a ceremony in Tjorn, just outside Gothenburg, on Wednesday.

The UEFA/Hyundai-branded vehicles – including the flagship i40 model – will be used to transport players, UEFA officials, referees, event staff and VIP guests to the seven stadiums across Sweden at the tournament, which runs from 10 to 28 July.

Mark Hall, marketing director at Hyundai Motor Europe, commented: "The UEFA championships are some of the most dynamic, passionate and exciting football tournaments in the world. It's these qualities that Hyundai Motor wants to bring to every aspect of its business, ensuring customer satisfaction at every touch point."

The official ceremony was presided over by Roland Bägén, marketing director at Hyundai Sweden, tournament director Göran Havik, Bert Andersson, president of the Gothenburg Football Association and chairman of the local organising committee, plus tournament ambassador and former Sweden captain Victoria Sandell Svensson.

Speaking at the official handover, Bägén said: "Hyundai Motor has been a dedicated UEFA partner since 2000 and we are proud to supply the 101 vehicles to UEFA Women's EURO 2013. We welcome all teams and fans to Sweden this summer and are convinced the tournament will be a great success."

Havik added: "We are looking forward to making UEFA Women's EURO 2013 the best European Women's Championship ever, and therefore we are very happy to have Hyundai with us as a partner on this journey."

As well as supplying the official vehicles of the tournament, Hyundai Motor will also be organising a unique competition for children between the ages of ten and 14, enabling 25 winners to deliver the official match ball at each game. One lucky child will be selected for every fixture to present the official match ball to the referee before kick-off.

There will also be interactive programmes onsite at selected stadiums where fans may register for a test drive, or take part in a competition to guess the number of footballs in the back seat of a car. Via a prize draw, participants in these programmes could win two match tickets for the finals.
