Vadims Ļašenko has been elected as the new president of the Latvian Football Federation (LFF).

Ļašenko, who is 35 and an economic specialist, has already served for several years as president of the Latvian Futsal Federation.

“This is a great honour and responsibility,” he said. “It’s time for a common effort to raise the profile of our football.”

“Lifting our football to a higher level is impossible without dialogue, the togetherness of all football people and the ability to find the best solution for the benefit of all.”

“I can’t promise very quick prosperity,” Ļašenko added, “but I will make every effort, and I am ready for the very serious and hard work that awaits me.”
