UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin has visited the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) in Rome.
Mr Čeferin met senior FIGC officials on Thursday, including president Carlo Tavecchio and director-general Michele Uva, as well as members of the association’s federal council.
It was the UEFA President’s second visit to Rome in recent months. In September, he was in the city to witness the unveiling of Rome’s logo as one of the 13 host cities for UEFA EURO 2020. He also attended Thursday’s UEFA Europa League Round of 32.second-leg match between AS Roma and Villareal CF.
“I thank Carlo Tavecchio and his team for inviting me,” Mr Čeferin said. “It's always a pleasure to come to such a great football country like Italy.”
“The relationship between UEFA and the FIGC is very good,” he added. “We are delighted that the FIGC is supporting our reforms, which are much needed at this particular moment. We will support the FIGC’s projects in the future.”
Mr Čeferin emphasised that UEFA would give every assistance to Italy in developing its footballing infrastructures.
