The date of the UEFA Appeals Body hearing in the case of England striker Wayne Rooney has been brought forward to Thursday 8 December from Friday 9 December.

This follows a request by the English Football Association (FA), as Rooney will be in Switzerland with his club Manchester United FC to play FC Basel 1893 in a UEFA Champions League Group C match on Wednesday 7 December.

The hearing in Nyon follows UEFA's receipt on Friday 4 November of the official written appeal from the FA against the three-match suspension given to Rooney by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body on 13 October. Rooney was given a red card in the 74th minute of England's UEFA EURO 2012 Group G qualifier against Montenegro in Podgorica on 7 October.
