Valencia-Inter charged

Cases

UEFA has issued conduct charges against Valencia CF and FC Internazionale Milano and five players.

UEFA has charged Valencia CF and FC Internazionale Milano for improper conduct after incidents which took place at the end of last night's UEFA Champions League match in Spain.

Five charged
Having earlier stated that an investigation was to take place into events at the Mestalla Stadium, UEFA has confirmed that both clubs would face charges relating to the actions of their respective teams. In addition, Carlos Marchena and David Navarro of Valencia, and Nicolás Burdisso, Iván Córdoba and Maicon of Inter have all been charged with gross unsporting conduct.

Hearing set
The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body will deal with the case on Wednesday 14 March. Last night's first knockout round match ended in a goalless draw, which meant that Valencia qualified for the quarter-finals on the away-goals ruling after a 2-2 draw in Milan two weeks ago.
