UEFA today announced that an agreement has been reached with Gazprom, the largest extractor of natural gas in the world, to join as an Official Partner of the UEFA Champions League for the seasons 2012 to 2015 and the UEFA Super Cup 2012, 2013 and 2014.
The three-year deal will run until the end of the 2014/15 football season and will see Gazprom’s involvement with Europe’s most prestigious club football competition through their exclusive services and products.
Commenting on the agreement, David Taylor, CEO of UEFA Events SA, said:
“I am delighted that Gazprom is to become an official partner of the UEFA Champions League for 2012 to 2015. Gazprom is a global energy company and the UEFA Champions League will benefit from Gazprom presence in more than 20 European countries and many more around the world. We expect that involvement with the UEFA Champions League will assist Gazprom to help build their brand awareness and identity on a global stage.”
Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, said:

Gazprom joins Heineken, UniCredit, Ford, MasterCard and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) as the sixth and last Official Partner for the 2012-2015 seasons besides adidas, who is the Official Supplier.
