UEFA Club Licensing & Financial Sustainability Annual Workshop

Following the landmark approval of the new UEFA club licensing and financial sustainability regulatory framework earlier this year, the European club licensing community will reunite again after a three-year enforced break. The workshop will provide an opportunity to reflect on the impact of the pandemic, but also to emphasise the role that the club licensing and financial sustainability systems played to navigate through the crisis.

The event will be hosted in collaboration with the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC) and will bring together representatives from all 55 UEFA member associations, the UEFA Club Licensing Committee, FIFA and sister confederations, as well as representatives of all football stakeholders.

The three-day workshop is one of the most important events in the calendar of the club licensing network, offering an excellent platform for exchange and discussion, addressing some of the key changes made in the regulatory framework and an opportunity to share best practices and provide benchmarking information on European club football.

Throughout the workshop, speakers will touch on the enhanced club licensing criteria, focusing on the newly adopted football social responsibility measures and the strengthened coaching requirements. Significantly, there will be a special emphasis on the first dedicated women’s football club licensing regulations, a key tool to continuously professionalise the game and to protect the integrity and smooth running of the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The reformed Financial Sustainability system (previously known as Financial Fair Play) will also take centre stage, with speakers providing information on the implementation of the system and its role in contributing to the financial sustainability and financial health of clubs.
