Bosnian champions and challengers change coaches

UEFA Champions League contenders FK Borac Banja Luka have a new coach, as do FK Sarajevo and NK Široki Brijeg after a summer of change in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Three clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovnia will kick off their European campaigns with new coaches at the helm after a summer of change.

Vlado Jagodić left the champions FK Borac Banja Luka to take charge of the national Under-21 team, and has been replaced by Zvezdan Cvetković. A former NK Dinamo Zagreb player, coach and scout, the Croatian is preparing his team for their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie against Maccabi Haifa FC, with the first leg due to be played in Israel on 13 July. "We're facing tough opponents but we're not giving up just yet," said Cvetković.

Meanwhile, NK Široki Brijeg will kick off their UEFA Europa League qualifying campaign against NK Olimpija Ljubljana on Thursday with Mario Ćutuk at the helm. Previous coach Blaž Slišković departed at the end of the season for a post in Saudi Arabia.

It is a similar situation at FK Sarajevo, the 2010/11 runners-up having put their faith in Czech coach Jiri Plišek after parting with Mirza Varešanović. "We have the team to beat Örebro," said the 39-year-old, looking ahead to the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round tie against Örebro SK. The first leg will be played in Sweden on 14 July.
