Liverpool hit five at Tottenham to go second

Liverpool FC went second in the table by hitting five in victory at Tottenham Hotspur FC while Manchester United FC got back to winning ways on Sunday in the Premier League.

Liverpool FC returned to second place in the Premier League after posting a 5-0 triumph at Tottenham Hotspur FC on a Sunday which saw Manchester United FC return to winning ways.

Brendan Rodgers' side move to within two points of leaders Arsenal FC after a third straight victory, going ahead as Luis Suárez surged into the area in the 18th minute to slide his 15th goal of the season past Hugo Lloris. Jordan Henderson made it two five minutes before half-time and things went from bad to worse for the hosts in the 63rd minute when Paulinho was shown a red card. Full-back Jon Flanagan got his first Premier League goal before Suárez and Raheem Sterling put the icing on the cake.

After four games without a league win, champions United picked up three points with a straightforward 3-0 success at Aston Villa FC as Danny Welbeck struck twice. The English international scored twice from close range in three first-half minutes before Tom Cleverley stroked past Brad Guzan after the restart.

There was nothing to separate Norwich City FC and Swansea City AFC in East Anglia as the two played out a 1-1 draw. Nathan Dyer dinked over John Ruddy to put the Welsh visitors in front 12 minutes in, but Gary Hooper's stunning volley from 25 metres on the stroke of half-time earned Norwich a point.
