An added-time strike from substitute David Villa extended FC Barcelona's winning start to the Liga season to six matches as the Blaugrana recovered from two down to win 3-2 at ten-man Sevilla FC.
Míchel's team took the lead through the man who scored the only goal against Real Madrid CF a fortnight ago, Piotr Trochowski. Álvaro Negredo adroitly gave the hosts a two-goal cushion early in the second half and although Cesc Fàbregas (53) reduced it with a low drive and Gary Medel (72) was shown a straight red card, they seemed set to hold on.
Fàbregas, however, dashed the home fans' hopes with a neat finish and, with Sevilla still reeling, Villa rifled beyond Andrés Palop. It was also a good day for two of Barça's fellow UEFA Champions League participants, Málaga CF and Valencia CF.
Málaga capitalised on the early dismissal of Real Betis Balompié custodian Casto to defeat their Andalusian rivals 4-0, the goalkeeper receiving a red card for fouling Eliseu. Valencia, meanwhile, had goalscorer Sofiane Feghouli sent off in their 2-0 defeat of Real Zaragoza. Elsewhere, Real Sociedad de Fútbol overcame Athletic Club by the same scoreline.
