Dortmund cruise, Bayern back in the groove

Borussia Dortmund put six past Hamburger SV to maintain their perfect start to the campaign, while FC Bayern München returned to winning ways at the expense of visitors Hannover 96.

Borussia Dortmund preserved their unblemished start to the season with a 6-2 home victory against Hamburger SV, after FC Bayern München had returned to winning ways versus Hannover 96.

Dortmund were 2-0 up after 22 minutes following goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but HSV fought back to equalise in the 49th minute through Heiko Westermann. However, Aubameyang restored the Schwarzgelben's lead, before Robert Lewandowski (2) and Marco Reus put the seal on a fifth Bundesliga success of the campaign.

Having being held by SC Freiburg last time out, Bayern defeated Hannover 2-0 in Munich. Mario Mandžukić's smart finish broke the deadlock early in the second half and UEFA Best Player in Europe Franck Ribéry followed up to tap in Arjen Robben's saved shot 13 minutes later.

Two Stefan Kiessling goals helped Bayer 04 Leverkusen to a 3-1 triumph over VfL Wolfsburg, while Germany's fourth UEFA Champions League contender, FC Schalke 04, got their second win of the season courtesy of Kevin-Prince Boateng's long-range strike against 1. FSV Mainz 05.
