Albania's Pro licence pioneers on learning curve

Students on Albanian football's inaugural UEFA Pro licence coaching course have had a helping hand from the high-profile managerial duo of Vincenzo Montella and Giovanni De Biasi.

The students on Albania's first UEFA Pro licence coaching course have continued their learning curve with the help of two high-profile figures – ACF Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella and Albania's own national team boss Giovanni De Biasi.

The Football Association of Albania's (FShF) inaugural course features coaches working for either the country's national teams or Albanian Super League sides. In March they decamped to Florence where they attended a training session at Fiorentina and had the opportunity to meet Montella, the ex-Italy forward now coaching the Viola, who shared some of his knowledge and experience in a Q&A session.

Their next stop was back on home soil in Durres where the Albania senior squad were gathered. Here the students observed a training session conducted by De Biasi's staff as they prepared for their FIFA World Cup qualifier against Norway and a friendly against Lithuania. For the coaches seeking their Pro licence, there remains work to do as the year-long course runs until the end of 2013.
