UE Sant Juliá have won their first Andorran Primera Divisió title since 2005 after their 1-0 away win over FC Lusitans earned them a two-point winning margin over nearest challengers FC Santa Coloma.
The title race was effectively decided when the top two faced off on 26 April, with Sant Juliá – then a point behind Vicenç Marquès's Santa Coloma – running out 3-2 winners. Needing a last-day win and hoping that their rivals might stumble, Santa Coloma did their part by downing CE Principat 4-1, but victory for Sant Juliá decided the destination of the title in the latter's favour.
Many might have expected Sant Juliá to triumph by a bigger margin, yet Christian Xinos (48) struck what proved to be the only goal of the game for the newly crowned champions at Lusitans. Meanwhile, Santa Coloma – who face the first leg of their Andorran Cup semi-final with UE Santa Coloma on 10 May – enjoyed a more straightforward win thanks to a double strike from Genís García and further efforts from Juli Sánchez and Rodrigo Guida, with Juan Carlos Toscano hitting Principat's only response.
