Bosnia and Herzegovina to feel power of football

The Cross Cultures Project Association and its Open Fun Football Schools will run a football tournament in Bosnia and Herzegovina under the banner, Schools: Partners for the Future.

A football tournament for mixed teams of players aged between 14 and 18 will be held in the Bosnian and Herzegovinian city of Banja Luka with the aim of using football as a tool for social development.

The Schools: Partners for the Future (PASCH) tournament will take place from 25 to 27 March, as an offshoot of the sport and foreign policy initiative launched last year by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany in cooperation with the streetfootballworld network.

Staging the PASCH event in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the Cross Cultures Project Association (CCPA) and its Open Fun Football Schools (OFFS), which seek to use sport as a means of overcoming social, ethnic and cultural barriers. Indeed, the CCPA and OFFS have worked with more than 500,000 boys and girls with the assistance of over 50,000 volunteers and coaches.

Fair play will be the focus in Banja Luka as the three-day tournament brings together players from various youth organisations. Among them, seven teams of seven players will come from the PASCH schools networks in both Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.

The Cross Cultures Project Association, which is the parent body of Open Fun Football Schools, is a member of streetfootballworld, a social-profit organisation established in 2002. There are more than 80 network members across over 50 countries worldwide, helping to build peace through football and to emphasise the importance of issues such as children's rights, anti-discrimination and environmental protection.
