FK Željezničar have retained the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Premier League title with two matches to spare.
Amar Osim's team have an unassailable seven-point lead over city rivals FK Sarajevo following a goalless draw at FK Velež and, as a consequence, have become the first club to defend the championship on two occasions. This is the sixth title for Bosnia and Herzegovina's most successful side, following triumphs in 1998, 2001, 2002, 2010 and 2012.
"When you look at the number of points [we have gained], it looks like we easily defended the title, but we did not," said Osim. "We had a lot of problems at the beginning, several key players were injured, but we found the strength to reach our target."
The opportunity is now there for Željezničar to repeat their double success of last season – next on the agenda is the second leg of the Bosnian Cup final against NK Široki Brijeg, which is level at 1-1.
