GNK Dinamo Zagreb have lured Ante Čačić away from NK Lokomotiva Zagreb to become their new coach, ending a two-week wait to find a successor for Krunoslav Jurčić.
Čačić, 58, has earned praise for lifting modest Lokomotiva up to sixth in the table at the winter break. He is the third Lokomotiva coach to move to Dinamo, in the wake of Marijo Tot and Jurčić. Čačić has signed an 18-month contract, with the club's sporting director Zoran Mamić saying: "Čačić is among the best Croatian coaches, he has been in charge of many clubs in Croatia and had good results."
"To be Dinamo Zagreb coach is a great honour and a major achievement for anyone who does this job in Croatia," added Čačić, whose side are six points clear of HNK Hajduk Split at the top of the table. "I am sure that I can maintain high standards and improve things in the team."
