League champions AC Omonia defeated Apollon Limassol FC 3-2 on penalties to win the Cypriot Super Cup on Sunday.

José Semedo opened the scoring for the domestic cup holders after 53 minutes, but Omonia rallied and deservedly drew level through Leandro with five minutes left to play. The game went straight to a shoot-out, where misses from Semedo and Apollon team-mates Nasief Morris and Felix Ogbuke handed the silverware to Omonia. On Friday, Omonia were paired with FC Metalist Kharkiv in the UEFA Europa League play-off round.
