Kevin Lisbie scored a late winner to give Charlton Athletic FC a 1-0 away win over Chelsea FC in the English FA Premiership on Wednesday.
Two minutes from time
The young striker settled this London derby with a goal two minutes from time against a Chelsea team coming off the back of a famous 3-1 victory over Manchester United FC. He flicked home a free-kick to send the travelling support home happy.
Defoe saves West Ham
Wednesday night’s other match saw Jermain Defoe save a point for West Ham United FC, another London club, at home to Aston Villa FC.
The visitors scored in the first minute through Dion Dublin, after a poor clearance from David James put West Ham under pressure. The home side then pushed forward for an equaliser but looked set to finish up empty-handed when Paolo di Canio missed a second-half penalty. But England Under-21 forward Defoe lashed home a volley in the dying seconds to level the scores and secure a precious point for the Hammers.
