Manchester United FC right-back Gary Neville has signed a one-year contract extension with the club. The new deal will take Neville – who has spent his whole career at Old Trafford – into his 19th season at United. The 35-year-old former England international has made 597 appearances since his debut in 1992 and, following two injury-blighted years, has featured in 16 top-flight games this season as United chase an unprecedented fourth consecutive English crown. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said Neville's return to fitness had been "astonishing" and added: "We think he deserves it. His contribution to the club has been fantastic."
