Manchester United FC scored twice in the final nine minutes to salvage a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa FC, while Tottenham Hotspur FC registered their first win in five Premier League games.
A youthful Villa team appeared to have inflicted the visitors' first defeat of the season when Ashley Young, from the spot, and Marc Albrighton scored within four minutes of each other. However, in a thrilling finale, Federico Macheda fired into the top corner and, with five minutes remaining, Nemanja Vidić headed in Nani's cross.
United's seventh draw in 13 league matches means leaders Chelsea FC can pull six points clear by defeating Sunderland AFC on Sunday, while Arsenal FC will move into second if they win at Everton FC. Gareth Bale, meanwhile, struck twice as Tottenham climbed to sixth thanks to a 4-2 defeat of Blackburn Rovers FC.
Elsewhere, fifth-placed Bolton Wanderers FC triumphed 3-2 at struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Wigan Athletic FC were 1-0 winners at home to West Bromwich Albion FC. Manchester City FC-Birmingham City FC, Newcastle United FC against Fulham FC and bottom-of-the-table West Ham United FC versus Blackpool FC finished goalless. Stoke City FC defeated Liverpool FC 2-0 in the late game.
