Arsenal FC went top of the Premier League, with Samir Nasri scoring both of their goals in a 2-1 win against Fulham FC, as Manchester United FC's game at Blackpool FC called off due to a frozen pitch and Chelsea FC were denied by Everton.
The Frenchman dummied two defenders to hit Arsenal's 14th-minute opener, but while Diomansy Kamara struck back before the interval, Nasri applied an elegant finish to a slick move 15 minutes from the end. Arsenal are now one ahead of United.
Chelsea had looked set to retake the league lead when Didier Drogba's penalty put them ahead late in the first half against Everton. But with four minutes left substitute Jermaine Beckford struck to leave Carlo Ancelotti's side in third, without a win in four league games.
Manchester City FC are within a point of Chelsea, and three of Arsenal, after a 1-0 victory against Bolton Wanderers FC, though they were reduced to ten men by the end following Aleksandar Kolarov's dismissal. Tottenham Hotspur FC are three points further back having been held 1-1 by Birmingham City FC. Blackburn Rovers FC, beaten 7-1 by United last week, defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers FC 3-0 to send them bottom while Wigan Athletic FC and Stoke City FC shared the points in a 2-2 draw.
