Salomon Kalou scored a minute from time as Chelsea FC kept their Premier League title hopes alive courtesy of a 2-1 home win against Tottenham Hotspur FC.
Kalou stabbed the ball in from close range after Frank Lampard (45) had cancelled out Sandro's ferocious opener with a shot that squirmed through the grasp of Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes. The Blues' fifth successive league victory halves Manchester United FC's lead to three points ahead of the Red Devils' fixture at Arsenal FC on Sunday.
Blackburn Rovers FC, meanwhile, boosted their chances of avoiding relegation with a 1-0 home triumph against neighbours Bolton Wanderers FC, Martin Olsson's first-half goal giving Steve Kean's side a first win in any competition since 23 January.
The Ewood Park club are three points clear of third-bottom Wigan Athletic FC and Blackpool FC, who drew with Everton FC (1-1) and Stoke City FC (0-0) respectively. Fulham FC recorded only their second away league win of the campaign, 3-0 at Sunderland AFC, while ten-man West Bromwich Albion FC recovered from a goal down to defeat Aston Villa FC 2-1.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Liverpool FC host Newcastle United FC, Birmingham City FC entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Manchester City FC play West Ham United FC.
