Wolves and City maintain perfect starts

Manchester City FC and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC made it two wins out of two, while Norwich City FC were denied a first victory of the season by Stoke City FC's last-gasp equaliser.

Manchester City FC and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC maintained their perfect starts to the season while Stoke City FC left it late to earn a point against Norwich City FC.

Roberto Mancini's side took the lead after 26 minutes away against Bolton Wanderers FC courtesy of David Silva's neat finish, before Gareth Barry doubled the advantage. Ivan Klasnić pulled one back for the hosts six minutes ahead of the interval, but they were left reeling again when Edin Džeko restored City's two-goal cushion 90 seconds into the second half. Although Kevin Davies' well-placed header gave Bolton a lifeline, City held on to maintain their 100% start to the season.

Earlier in the day, Wolves had made it two wins out of two thanks to a 2-0 home victory against Fulham FC. Kevin Doyle and Matthew Jarvis were on target for the hosts in a frantic burst of action at the end of the first half.

As for UEFA Europa League play-off contenders Stoke, they required an added-time header from Kenwyne Jones to earn a draw against ten-man Norwich. The Canaries took a 37th-minute lead through Ritchie De Laet but were reduced to ten men when Leon Barnett received his marching orders for a foul on Jonathan Walters. The Stoke striker saw his subsequent penalty saved, but Jones headed in Glenn Whelan's cross with just seconds remaining to deny Norwich.
