Lampard lifts Chelsea as Fulham stun Arsenal

Chelsea FC moved back up to fourth place in the Premier League after Frank Lampard's late winner edged a 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Arsenal FC lost at Fulham FC.

Chelsea FC moved back up to fourth place in the Premier League after completing a 2-1 away victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, although it took an 89th-minute winner by Frank Lampard to end their four-match winless sequence.

Stephen Ward thought he had done enough to earn the hosts a fourth consecutive draw when he cancelled out Ramires's second-half effort with just five minutes remaining, but Lampard pounced to take the Blues a point above Arsenal FC, who failed to reclaim fourth spot after losing 2-1 at Fulham FC in the late fixture.

Despite taking the lead through Laurent Koscielny's header (21) the Gunners endured a torrid second period, during which Philippe Senderos, Clint Dempsey and Bryan Ruiz all came close before Johan Djourou was sent off (78). The hosts then levelled through Steve Sidwell (85) and claimed all three points thanks to Bobby Zamora's injury-time strike.

After overcoming Manchester United FC at Old Trafford on Saturday, Blackburn Rovers FC were brought back down to earth by a Stoke City FC side inspired by Peter Crouch, whose first-half double (17, 45) consigned Rovers to their eighth home reverse of the campaign, despite David Goodwillie's consolation (69).

Norwich City FC also won 2-1 after coming from behind to sink Queens Park Rangers FC, who lost goalscorer Joey Barton to a first-half red card. Anthony Pilkington (42) and Steve Morison (83) scored to turn the tables on their hosts. Elsewhere, Swansea City AFC completed their first away win in the English top-flight since May 1982 with a 2-0 triumph at Aston Villa FC.
