Wolves promote Connor to lead relegation fight

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC have given Terry Connor the task of saving the club from relegation after promoting Mick McCarthy's former assistant to replace the sacked manager.

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC have installed assistant coach Terry Connor as their manager until the end of the season after Mick McCarthy's departure on 13 February.

Wolves dismissed McCarthy after a poor run of form left them in the Premier League's bottom three. The 49-year-old Connor, who has been at the club since 1999, has 13 games to save the Black Country team from relegation, starting on Saturday at Newcastle United FC.
