Saturday's FA Cup quarter-finals were overshadowed by the collapse of Bolton Wanderers FC midfielder Fabrice Muamba.
Bolton and Tottenham Hotspur FC were drawing 1-1 at White Hart Lane before the match was stopped when the former England Under-21 international fell unconscious. Medics spent a prolonged period attempting to resuscitate Muamba before the player was taken to hospital. Kyle Walker had levelled the scores following Gareth Bale's own goal.
In the day's other last-eight tie, Everton FC and Sunderland AFC drew 1-1 at Goodison Park, Tim Cahill (23) heading the hosts level after Phil Bardsley had opened the scoring with a 12th-minute free-kick.
Swansea City AFC, meanwhile, are up to eighth in the Premier League after goals in either half from Gylfi Thor Sigurdsson and a Joe Allen strike strike (77) secured a 3-0 victory at Fulham FC. Wigan Athletic FC passed up the chance to move out of the bottom three as former Latics player Paul Scharner (65) cancelled out James McArthur's opening goal to earn West Bromwich Albion FC a 1-1 draw.
