Manchester United FC remain seven points clear at the Premier League summit following a 2-0 victory against West Bromwich Albion FC.
United came from behind three times to beat Newcastle United FC on Boxing Day, but enjoyed a far more comfortable ride against West Brom. A Gareth McAuley own goal put Sir Alex Ferguson's side in front on nine minutes and Robin van Persie secured the points with a curling shot late on.
Second-placed Manchester City FC, beaten by Sunderland AFC on Wednesday, played the whole second half with ten men following Samir Nasri's dismissal but nevertheless won 4-3 against Norwich City FC. Edin Džeko had put City two up with two goals inside the opening four minutes.
Tottenham Hotspur FC, meanwhile, are third, six points shy of City, having come from behind to beat Sunderland, Aaron Lennon scoring the winner. Arsenal FC are fifth following an extraordinary 7-3 victory against Newcastle United FC. Theo Walcott struck a hat-trick in the joint-second highest-scoring game in Premier League history.
Elsewhere, Stoke City FC came from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Southampton FC, Wigan Athletic FC won 3-0 at fellow strugglers Aston Villa FC and Reading FC defeated West Ham United FC 1-0.
