Manchester City FC and Wigan Athletic FC are no nearer to finding out who they will face in the FA Cup semi-finals after Chelsea FC fought back from two goals down to force a replay with Manchester United FC and the other quarter-final ended all square.
Second-tier sides Millwall FC and Blackburn Rovers FC kicked off the day with a 0-0 stalemate in their last-eight tie, but the possibility of a repeat result was swiftly ruled out at Old Trafford when Javier Hernández headed United ahead five minutes in.
Wayne Rooney's free-kick doubled the advantage shortly after as it appeared that Sir Alex Ferguson's side were all set to put their UEFA Champions League exit swiftly behind them. However, Eden Hazard curled in beautifully after the break, before Ramires grabbed the equaliser to earn a replay at Stamford Bridge.
In the Premier League, third-placed Tottenham Hotspur FC had their 12-game undefeated streak ended by a 3-2 defeat at Liverpool FC. After Luis Suárez put the hosts ahead, Jan Vertonghen struck twice to put Spurs back on track. Stewart Downing then took advantage of a defensive mix up to equalise and Steven Gerrard scored from the penalty spot to move the Reds sixth.
Elsewhere, Papiss Cissé scored in added time to earn Newcastle United FC a 2-1 win against Stoke City FC, making it three defeats in a row for the Potters.
