City secure Yaya Touré's long-term future

"I want to continue winning titles and trophies and continue to make history," proclaimed Manchester City FC midfielder Yaya Touré after penning a new four-year deal.

Yaya Touré has signed a new four-year contract with Manchester City FC, tying him to the Premier League champions until summer 2017.

The Ivorian international midfielder, who turns 30 next month, ended a three-year association with FC Barcelona to join City in 2010, scoring the winner in their 1-0 FA Cup final triumph against Stoke City FC in his first season in England. He then played a pivitol role as Roberto Mancini's men pipped Manchester United FC to capture the Premier League title last term.

"This is where I want to be," said Touré, whose previous deal ran until 2015. "When I first arrived at City every time I went to sleep I would dream about us winning something. Now it is about us being the best team in whatever competition we take part in.

"I want to continue winning titles and trophies and continue to make history," continued the former KSK Beveren, FC Metalurh Donetsk, Olympiacos FC and AS Monaco FC player. "I have enjoyed all my time here and can't wait for the next chapter. This is an incredible club to be part of, with fans that support the team to the end whatever the circumstances."
