Manchester City FC kept their slim chances of catching Manchester United FC alive as they narrowed the gap by two points to 13 on a night when Chelsea FC boosted their UEFA Champions League hopes.
Had results gone United's way tonight they would have been within a point of a 20th title but instead they had to come from behind twice to draw 2-2 at West Ham United FC. Ricardo Vaz Te headed West Ham in front on 16 minutes but Antonio Valencia levelled just past the half hour. Mohamed Diame's curling strike restored West Ham's lead early in the second period but with 13 minutes left Robin van Persie pounced after Shinji Kagawa's shot hit both posts.
City and Wigan Athletic FC both won FA Cup semi-finals this weekend and in a Wembley dress rehearsal in Manchester the home side prevailed 1-0 with a late Carlos Tévez effot to at least delay United's championship celebrations.
Arsenal FC were held 0-0 by Everton FC last night and Chelsea FC moved ahead of the Gunners into third as they won 3-0 at neighbours Fulham FC thanks to David Luiz's long-range opener and two John Terry headers.
