Arsenal FC are five points clear at the Premier League summit after defeating nearest challengers Liverpool FC 2-0, while third-placed Chelsea FC also lost and Manchester City FC scored seven without reply.
Santi Cazorla (19) fired the Gunners ahead after his initial header from Bacary Sagna's cross had rattled the upright. The Spanish international's midfielder partner Aaron Ramsey (59) continued his stellar season with a fine shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Earlier, Newcastle United FC struck two second-half goals against visitors Chelsea. Yoann Gouffran broke the deadlock, stooping to head Yohan Cabaye's deep free-kick back across Petr Čech. The contest was put to bed by Loïc Rémy.
Seven different players were on target in Manchester City's emphatic success – the Citizens' biggest in the Premier League era – against Norwich City FC. Manchester United FC, meanwhile, established a three-goal lead inside 22 minutes as they eased to three points at Fulham FC.
Elsewhere, a wind-assisted punt downfield from goalkeeper Asmir Begović put Stoke City FC ahead 13 seconds into their encounter with Southampton FC, who levelled through Jay Rodriguez. Hull City AFC triumphed 1-0 against nine-man Sunderland AFC and there were no goals between West Ham United FC and Aston Villa FC.
