Turkey midfielder Mehmet Topal is expected to sign a four-year contract with Valencia CF after the Spanish side agreed a fee, believed to be in the region of €5m, with Galatasaray AŞ.
The 24-year-old will join Valencia provided he passes an end-of-season medical at Mestalla. A versatile holding midfielder who also has the ability to play in defence, Topal was part of Fatih Terim's Turkey squad that reached the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2008 and has been capped 13 times. He started his career at Dardanelspor AŞ, and has scored twice in 82 league games for Galatasaray since moving to Istanbul in September 2006.
